Tote Bags

Hand-woven jute tote bags, made in small batches with prints exclusive to Foliate. Every bag in this collection is built around the same idea: a bag sturdy enough to carry a week's groceries, handsome enough to take to the beach, and natural enough to compost at the end of its life.

Our totes are woven from Golden Fiber jute — the same natural fibre used for coffee sacks and rope, chosen because it's strong, breathable, and genuinely biodegradable rather than a plastic weave dressed up as one. The juco styles blend jute with cotton for a softer hand and add a waterproof lining, a zip pocket, cotton-filled handles, and a reinforced removable base so the bag holds its shape when it's full.

Sizes run roomy. A tote will take a beach towel, a book and a bottle of sunscreen, or a laptop, a notebook and a water bottle, depending on the day. Care is simple: spot clean, never soak, and let the faint natural smell of raw jute fade over the first few days.
